Here at Fluency, we pride ourselves on our people. After all, without them, we wouldn’t be nearly as innovative, savvy, and resourceful–so we asked them: Why Fluency? More specifically, what makes our employees proud to work at Fluency and what keeps them going?
Getting to Know Chris Scott, Principal Software Engineer
Meet Chris Scott, Principal Software Engineer at Fluency. As a software architect for a Robotic Process Automation for Advertising (RPA4A) company, Chris’ job isn’t writing code all the time. “The Fluency system already has existing functionality to achieve what our customers need,” he says. “A lot of my job is to listen and brainstorm with our advertising architects and directly with customers to propose how best to configure the software for that customer.” Chris and his team focus heavily on monitoring and scalability, and they do so through conversation, critical thought, and just a few lines of code.
Chris sees a big difference between Fluency and its competitors. Rather than seeking a large pool of customers, we focus on promoting an incredibly powerful, but fairly niche product. Chris says Fluency software users are “sophisticated and understand the power they have to affect advertising content or budgets and spend across multiple channels and thousands of ad accounts—with just the click of a few buttons.” Chris loves the exciting atmosphere that Fluency fosters to architect and support these software systems.
Like any Fluency employee, Chris understands the benefits of a work-life balance. Outside of work, he’s a basketball coach for both of his kids’ teams. This means his family spends a lot of weekends outside of his home state of Vermont at basketball tournaments during the spring and summer seasons. “Vermont, being the second-least populated state, doesn’t have a lot of competition,” he says.
