The Fluency Five: Mark Wright

A core part of working here at Fluency is the opportunity to make a profound impact on virtually every aspect of our business—regardless of location. Spanning across 18 states—and counting—we’ve built quite the dynamic team and we want you to get to know them. That’s why we’ve created The Fluency Five, a five question blog series about what makes our employees special and what they love about working here.

Getting to know Mark Wright: Advertising Engineer

1. What brought you to Fluency?: In early 2021 I was looking for a new opportunity and I had heard about Fluency from former coworkers who had joined the company with nothing but positive things to say. I knew that the crew there was brilliant and building something special and I wanted to be a part of it. So I applied and the interview process confirmed what I already knew, and four business days later I was the 24th member of Fluency!

2. What’s something interesting about what you do at Fluency?: What I love is getting to know my clients' business inside and out. When they come to us, they have a real problem that needs solving and we have the answer; so I'm in a position to help them look at their current process, identify the pain points and bring a solution that saves them time and allows them to scale. Through this process I've been able to help clients use their existing data in ways that they had only dreamed about and bring new solutions to their customers that give them a real competitive advantage.

3. In your opinion, what is the most interesting thing about Fluency?: Hands down the people! The culture here is unlike anything I have ever experienced at other organizations. It blows my mind that we've tripled in size since I started and each and every new person to join our team is approachable and the smartest person in the room. I'll also say that the level of maturity we have for a 5 year old company is really incredible. All of our founders and leadership team are so thoughtful in how we're growing and positioning ourselves, it's really remarkable.

4. Can you tell us something personal about you?: I've played guitar and bass since I was about 11, so I love playing music in my spare time. I'm also an avid concert goer, I think I have 10 or so lined up before the end of the summer and probably another 10-12 behind me this year. Outside of that I enjoy snowboarding in the winter, hiking, hanging at the lake in the summer and finding the best coffee in town.

5. What are you most looking forward to this year in your role and/or at the company?: I'm excited to see how we grow and to work with the amazing new people and clients that come onboard in the next year...and beyond!
