Fluency Named One of The Best Places to Work in Vermont for Fourth Consecutive Year

‍Burlington, Vermont - April 3, 2025 — Fluency, the leading digital advertising operating system for agencies and large enterprises, today announced it was named a Best Place to Work in Vermont for the fourth consecutive year. Fluency ranked #2 in its category on this year's list.

The Best Places to Work in Vermont awards program was created in 2006 and is presented in partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management, Vermont State Council, (VTSHRM), the Vermont Department of Commerce and Community Development, and Workforce Research Group.

“Vermont is home: our founding team intentionally built Fluency here because it’s also where we’ve built our families, community, and network,” said Mike Lane, Fluency’s Chief Executive Officer and co-founder. “Even though we’re a remote-first company, our values reflect the foundational principles of Vermont and we’ve taken them nationwide: hard work, investing in your community, and a sense of responsibility.”

“Receiving this recognition for the fourth year in a row reflects our ongoing commitment to purposefully put energy into building a great company and culture rooted in what it means to be a Vermonter,” Lane continued. “We are proud to stand among so many other great companies who share that commitment.”

The two-part selection process included an evaluation of each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, and demographics (20% of the score) and an employee survey to measure the employee experience (80% of the discord). The combined score determined the top companies and the final ranking. This year’s 65 winners come from across the state and a wide range of products and services.

“This list is a testament to the fantastic companies here in Vermont and is by far our largest list since 2006,” said John Boutin, Publisher at VermontBiz. “These employees and employers are committed to a productive workplace, be that while in the office or working remotely.”

Fluency's commitment to employee success is core to its mission to enable advertisers to improve scalability and performance across their paid media strategies through a connected operating system. The company’s benefits include flexible working hours, competitive compensation, and an award-winning health and wellness program. This multi-pronged approach to keeping employees happy gives our teams the energy to help clients achieve their goals, reduce repetitive work, and find more joy in their jobs.

“We deliberately take a positive, respectful, and people-first approach across our entire organization,” said Michelle Arnold, Head of Talent at Fluency. “Being named one of the Best Places to Work in Vermont indicates how proud and valued our employees feel working here. That recognition means so much, especially in a place as special as Vermont.”
