Burlington, Vermont - January 27, 2025 — Fluency, the leading digital advertising operating system for agencies and large enterprises, today announced it ranked no. 4 on Ad Age’s Best Places to Work 2025 list for companies with up to 150 employees.
Ad Age’s Best Places to Work spotlights the top advertising, marketing, and digital tech companies fostering a positive workplace culture, prioritizing employee growth, and providing exceptional benefits. While Fluency has been recognized in the past year as an outstanding place to work by other organizations, including Inc., Built In, and VermontBiz, this is the first time the company has landed on the prestigious Ad Age Best Places to Work winners list.
“We’ve put a lot of thought, intention, and work into shaping Fluency into the company it is today,” said Mike Lane, Fluency’s Chief Executive Officer and co-founder. “Knowing that our team wants to share how much they love working here is the highest accolade any founder could hope for. Ad Age’s recognition of our team’s sentiment is an incredible honor.”
In addition to being #4 overall, Fluency also ranks #1 in Vermont, #1 in New England, and #1 for Ad Tech for all companies with 150 employees or less.
The winners—top companies with 150 or fewer employees and top companies with more than 151 employees—reflect the highest overall numerical scores based on an analysis of questionnaires submitted by employers and survey responses from their employees.
The award recognizes companies that “embrace the individuality of their workforce with a myriad of solutions—offering employees tools for professional productivity along with benefits and policies attuned to their personal lives,” according to Ad Age. The scoring system factors in employee responses on topics including pay and benefits and seven other core focus areas (80% of the score) and a company’s policies and practices on areas including pay and benefits, work/life balance, recruitment, training and development (20% of the score).
“The companies on Ad Age’s 2025 Best Places to Work list have shown a deep commitment to building workplaces where employees truly want to be—no small feat in today’s challenging labor market,” said Dan Peres, president of Ad Age. “Earning this recognition isn’t just a win for company culture; it also strengthens an organization’s reputation, making it a more attractive place for top talent.”
